Manufactured and installed by one team.

Onsite Metals doesn’t just manufacture your panels — we install them too. The same team that roll-forms your roof shows up to put it on. No miscommunication between fabricator and installer. No blame-shifting when something needs attention. One company, end to end.

Onsite Metals is first and foremost a metal panel manufacturer supplying contractors across Alberta. Installation services are available for commercial and select residential projects in the Edmonton area — contact us to discuss your project and confirm availability.

Installation services.

We install the same products we manufacture — standing seam, snap lock, SIP panels, and residential metal roofing. Every installation uses panels we’ve roll-formed ourselves, to our own quality standard.

Primary service

Commercial Metal Roofing

Large-scale standing seam and mechanically seamed roofing systems for commercial, institutional, and light industrial buildings. We manage the full scope — takeoff, supply, and installation — under one contract.
Specialist service

SIP Panel Installation

Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) roofing installation for high-performance building envelopes. SIP roofs combine structure and insulation in a single panel — demanding precise installation that we handle with a specialist crew.
Secondary service

Residential Installation

Snap lock and standing seam residential roofing for homeowners in the Edmonton area. We prioritize commercial work but take residential projects that are a good fit — contact us to discuss your project timeline and location.
Supply-only option

Prefer to use your own crew?

Most of our customers are roofing contractors who supply their own installation crews. We manufacture the panels, trim, and accessories — they install them. It’s our primary business model and we’re set up to support trade customers at every step.

Same team. Both sides.

Most roofing projects involve at least two separate companies — a panel manufacturer and an installation contractor. Each has their own tolerances, their own processes, and their own version of what “correct” looks like. When something goes wrong, the two parties point at each other.

01

No specification gaps

When we manufacture your panels and install them, the spec is the same document from start to finish. No translation errors between fabrication drawings and installation crew.

02

Panels built for how we install

Our installation crew's feedback directly influences how we form panels and trim. Details that other manufacturers get wrong — clip spacing, seam height tolerances, drip edge geometry — are right because we've learned them from doing the installs ourselves.

03

Single warranty, single contact

One company is responsible for the finished roof. If there's ever a question about panel performance or installation quality, there's one phone number to call — ours.

From site visit to finished roof.

A predictable process with clear communication at every stage — no surprises on your project timeline or budget.
01

Site assessment

We visit the site, review drawings, take measurements, and assess any structural or access considerations. You get a detailed written quote covering panels, trim, and installation labour — no grey areas.
02

Design & permitting

We handle permit applications with the relevant municipality and coordinate any required structural engineering. Panel profiles, gauges, and colours are confirmed before anything goes into production.
03

Manufacturing

Your panels and trim are roll-formed at our Edmonton facility to the exact dimensions confirmed in the site assessment. Everything — panels, trim, flashing, fasteners — is staged for delivery together.
04

Installation & handover

Our crew installs to spec with daily site cleanup and quality checks throughout. Final inspection, warranty documentation, and a complete as-built package are delivered at project completion.

What contractors are saying.

Installation FAQs.

Do you install for other contractors or only supply panels?
Both. Our primary business is manufacturing panels and supplying roofing contractors across Alberta who install them with their own crews. We also offer direct installation services for commercial projects and select residential work in the Edmonton area. If you’re a contractor looking for panel supply, our trade account program is the right starting point. If you need a turnkey installed roof, contact us to discuss your project.
Yes — we are fully licensed and insured for roofing installation work in Alberta, including WCB coverage for all crew members and comprehensive general liability insurance. We can provide insurance certificates and license documentation as part of any pre-qualification process for commercial projects.
For commercial projects, the typical timeline from accepted quote to installation start is 3–6 weeks, depending on permitting requirements, structural assessment timelines, and our installation schedule. Panel manufacturing typically takes 2–5 business days once the spec is confirmed — the permit process is usually the longest lead item. We’ll give you a realistic schedule at the time of quote.
Yes — we have significant experience working with insurance adjusters on hail damage claims in Alberta. We can provide a detailed damage assessment report, work directly with your adjuster to agree on scope, and handle all permit applications. Our documentation makes the claims process straightforward for homeowners and commercial property owners alike.

We provide a workmanship warranty on all installation work — the specific term depends on project type and scope and is included in your contract. Panel and coating warranties from the steel manufacturer are passed through in full. For commercial projects, we can discuss extended warranty options and maintenance programs at the time of quote.

Metal roofs typically last 40-70 years in Edmonton, significantly longer than asphalt shingles (15-25 years). The key factors are proper installation, quality materials rated for our climate, and regular maintenance. Our standing seam systems with concealed fasteners and thermal expansion joints are engineered specifically for Alberta’s temperature swings. Compare different metal roofing options to find the best fit for your home.

Modern metal roofing with proper underlayment and insulation is actually quieter than many people expect. We install high-quality synthetic underlayment and ensure adequate attic insulation, which significantly reduces noise transmission. Most homeowners report minimal difference compared to their previous asphalt roof.

Metal roofs actually excel in snow and ice conditions. The smooth surface allows snow to shed naturally, reducing structural load. We install ice and water shield, proper ventilation to prevent ice dams, and can add snow guards where controlled shedding is needed to protect walkways and landscaping.

While metal roofing has a higher upfront cost (typically 2-3x asphalt), the lifetime value is often better due to longevity, energy savings, and minimal maintenance. Most homeowners recover the difference through reduced replacements, lower cooling costs, and increased home value. We offer financing options to make the investment more manageable.

Yes, we handle all permit applications with Edmonton and surrounding municipalities. For insurance claims, we work directly with adjusters, provide detailed documentation, and ensure all work meets or exceeds code requirements. Our team has extensive experience with storm damage claims and can guide you through the entire process.
