Where it's used.

R-Panel is the default choice for commercial, industrial, and agricultural projects where speed of installation, wide coverage, and long-term reliability are non-negotiable.

Commercial & Industrial Roofing

R-Panel’s 36″ coverage width and 1.25″ rib height make it one of the most efficient panels to install on large commercial and industrial roofs. The built-in anti-siphon channel prevents water from being drawn back under side laps — a critical detail on low-slope applications where most exposed fastener panels fall short.

Agricultural Buildings

From machine sheds to large-span barns, R-Panel is a staple in Alberta agriculture. It handles wide purlin spacing better than corrugated profiles thanks to its deeper rib, and the 29ga option keeps material costs in check on large footprint buildings without sacrificing coating quality.

Wall Cladding

R-Panel works equally well as wall cladding on commercial and agricultural buildings. Running vertically, the rib profile adds rigidity to the wall assembly and sheds water cleanly. Order roof and wall panels in the same colour and gauge from a single shipment for a consistent finish across the entire building envelope.

How it goes on.

A simplified overview — for full installation guides, technical drawings, and spec sheets, contact our team or request a trade account.

01

Substrate prep

Ensure purlins or decking are level, clean, and fastened to spec. Install underlayment at eaves and around any penetrations. Confirm purlin spacing is within the allowable range for the gauge you’re running.

02

Panel Layout

Start from one end of the building and establish a square layout line. On roofs, overlap one rib at side laps. On walls, confirm lap direction sheds water away from prevailing weather. Apply sealant tape at all end laps before overlapping the next sheet.

03

Panel Fastening

Drive neoprene-washered screws through the panel ribs into the purlin or decking below. Do not overtighten — the washer should compress slightly but not deform. Space fasteners per local wind zone and load requirements.

04

Trim & Flashing

Complete the system with colour-matched ridge cap, eave trim, rake trim, and any required flashing at penetrations and transitions. We supply all matching trim cut to your dimensions as part of the same order.

FAQs.

What's the difference between R-Panel and corrugated / AG panels?

The main differences are rib height and slope capability. R-Panel’s 1.25″ rib is deeper than the 7/8″ corrugated profile, giving it more rigidity across wider purlin spans and better performance on lower-slope roofs. R-Panel is also rated to 1:12 minimum slope compared to 3:12 for corrugated, making it the right choice for flatter commercial roofs. Both use exposed fasteners and are available in the same colour and gauge options.

The anti-siphon channel is a small groove formed into the panel at the side lap. On low-slope roofs, capillary action can draw water back under a standard side lap — the anti-siphon channel breaks that action and redirects water away from the fastener zone. It’s a detail that matters most on roofs below 3:12 and is one of the reasons R-Panel is preferred over corrugated on commercial builds.

Yes — and ordering both at the same time is the best way to guarantee a colour match. All our panel profiles use the same colour range and coating system. We can also supply colour-matched trim to tie the roofing, siding, and soffit together in a single order.

Kynar 500 PVDF coatings typically carry a manufacturer’s paint warranty of 30–40 years against fading and chalking. Contact us for current warranty documentation on the gauge you’re ordering.
